Ever started something new, but you’re not even sure what it is? Creative projects are funny that way. I’d like to say it’s best to be decisive and know exactly what you want and how to achieve it. But, actually, “happy accidents” are often much more rewarding.
So it is that long-time collaborator, Jamie Tait, and I are embarking on a new music-making venture.
So far, we have been creating beats, both electronically and acoustically.
Will it be classified as chill-out music or instrumental hip-hop, lo-fi hip-hop, house music, downtempo, or something else? These are things we don’t ask ourselves much as we create. Others will classify it later.
Given our most recent collaborations in City Wide Walkie Talkie, another question arises: “How will this differ?” We have a few ideas. The exact outcome is still a bit mysterious – even to us. That’s part of the fun.

Love this.
Yeah its been a few months since you wrote this and at 13 drum tracks now recorded, we still don’t really know how this will play out.
Fun though…
For sure – we’re unsure, but that’s ok.
